I do not know why people are so amazed when I pull out homemade hummus. It is the easiest thing to make, and once you try it, you'll never go back to store-bought again! There is a huge difference in taste and quality -- Try it! You won't be sorry --Just a few ingredients is all you need.
Don't forget to rinse the beans!
Puree in a food processor or blender.
Serve with veggies or pita chips.
1 15oz. can chick peas
1 garlic clove
3/4 tsp. salt
pinch of cayenne pepper
3 1/4 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/4 c. tahini
1/4 c. olive oil
3/4 c. water
Process all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Refrigerate at least 30 min. to let the flavors meld.
